Publication Ethics

The ethical codes of the Semi-Annual journal of Engineering Management and Soft Computing follow the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) which involves all staff members (chief editor, referees, and authors) of the journal. The journal only publishes the articles that contain new findings in related topics. The editorial board is always pleased to receive the results of researches conducted by professors, scholars and experts. Researchers willing to publish their papers in this journal should note the following points:

 

For the Journal:

1. The laws of copyright and adaptation of literary works are obeyed and individuals’ rights are protected by the journal at the time of publication.

2. Decisions about the articles, at any stage, will be made regardless of the race, gender, sexual orientations, ethnicity, citizenship, religious beliefs, or political philosophy of the author.

3. The authors’ personal information is strictly confidential and their privacy is protected by all the people who have access to them, such as the chief editor, editorial board members, the internal manager of the journal and other active agents (other than the author), including referees, advisers, editors and trusted publishers.

4. If necessary, the author will be asked to introduce and present the raw data, interviews, questionnaires and other tools implemented in the research.

5. In case of any violations by authors, the journal will act based on COPE guidelines.

 

For Authors:

1. Papers should be the result of the author/ authors’ own studies, experiences and researches.

2. The authors should compose the articles in a scientific and coherent manner in accordance with the journal’s standards and mention their methods and approaches and precisely report the data.

3. The authors mention the corresponding author and colleagues with complete referencing, as well as respecting the rights of others in the article.

4. The authors should refrain from expressing sensitive, immoral, personal, racial and religious ideas, giving fake and false information and translating other works without referencing them.

5. If necessary, the author will be asked to introduce and present the raw data, interviews, questionnaires and other tools implemented in the research.

6. Submitting a single article simultaneously to more than one journal, or offering the published or qualified papers to other journals is considered a violation of COPE guidelines. In case of any violations, it would be considered plagiarism and reported to the Ministry of Science.

7. The original version of the rejected or cancelled articles will be removed from the journal’s archive after six months, and the journal will accept no responsibility for it.

8-The journal is free to reject or accept, edit, summarize or modify the received manuscripts.

 

For Referees:

1. After initial reviews, chosen referees should immediately inform the chief editor if one of the following scenarios happens:

A) Not intended to judge the article due to the referee’s irrelevant field of expertise, lack of sufficient time, etc.

B) Delayed judging due to heavy workloads, insufficient access to technical facilities, etc.

2. Judging and the evaluation of the articles should be done on the basis of enough reasoning and scientific evidences, and declared in a lucid and clear way. These evidences should be submitted to the publisher and authors. Referees should refrain from declaring personal, religious, racial or any other sensitive types of ideas.

3. Considering the references cited in the article is another task of the referees. All researches, topics and citations used in the article should be completely referenced in the bibliography.

4. Referees should not accept the articles which cause the conflict of interests of individuals, institutions and companies, or the articles which involves personal relationships.
